Dunia seni tidak hanya seputar musik dan pertunjukan, film pun termasuk di dalamnya. Saat ini, di Indonesia khususnya, sudah tercatat beberapa band yang juga bermain film. Di tahun 2011 ini, Ungu mendapat kesempatan untuk bermain di film layar lebar, karya anak bangsa Guntur Soeharjanto dan scenario ditulis oleh Cassandra.

Setelah Pasha, Makki, Ochi, Enda dan Rowman melakukan workshop dan reading selama 1 bulan bareng Didi Petet, beserta semua pemain yang terlibat seperti Kirana Larasati, Nirina Zubir dan lain-lain. Akhirnya syuting film Purple Love pun dilakukan seputar Jakarta dan Cibodas. Banyak cerita menarik seputar kegiatan syuting film yang baru pertama kali dialami oleh Ungu. Salah satunya adalah pergantian sutradara, karena Guntur 'terpaksa' dirawat di Rumah Sakit karena kecapekan. Akhirnya, tugas pun diambil alih oleh Monty Tiwa agar jadwal syuting selesai tepat waktu.
